Last Friday CAA participated as a host site for Dubuque Days of Caring, welcoming over 60 generous volunteers from John Deere, Coca-Cola and Alliant Energy to assist with projects around the grounds. We put together this update for you to share out the projects that were completed! CAA is so grateful to the volunteers who came out to Camp, the coordinators of Dubuque Days of Caring, and staff members who coordinated the volunteer efforts. Here's what we updated!

Project: Parking Lot Updates

Volunteers helped spray new lines for our parking lot, sprucing it up and helping maintain the lot for years to come!

Project: Fishing Shack Spruce Up

Our pond's fishing shack was in serious need of a new coat of protective paint, but now it looks like new!

Project: Pond Revitalization

Members of the Coca-Cola volunteer team helped revitalize the pond area by clearing weeds and trash, revealing a clean bank!

Project: Lodge Deep Clean

Each year before the camp season starts, the lodges all get a DEEP clean! Windows, walls, beds and more were deep cleaned in just a few hours! Many hands makes light work!

Project: Storage Organization

With hundreds of items stored after making some updates around camp, a team from John Deere helped sort our storage into reusable, recyclable and trash!

Project: Turtle Makeover

With a thorough wash and a new paint job, our playground turtle is bright and happy again! We can't wait for campers to see his makeover!

Project: Tree Trimming

Alliant Energy generously offered not only time, but tools to assist with tree trimming efforts to spruce up camp grounds for the spring! Not to mention making the grounds safer for campers, families and staff!

Project: Re-stain Deck

Eagle's deck got a fresh coat of stain on Friday, making it not only look more finished, but also helping the wood to weather better and remain a safe and fun place for our campers to hangout!

Project: Julia's Cottage Organization

Clearing out Julia's Cottage to reorganize, clear out broken and unusable items, and clean the space. Now we have space for both golf carts to park!

Project: Paint Double Doors

Campers first stop for registration and check-in is at the Kehl gym; now our front doors look extra spiffy and welcoming for our campers!

Project: Wood Burner Builder Clean-Up

Some members of the John Deere team helped pressure-wash the wood burner stove building to get it looking nice for spring! They also cleaned out our camp vans!

Project: Dolphin Repaint

A mother-daughter team came out with the volunteers and helped us out by repainting our dolphin down by the pond! Keep watching our social media for a fun challenge that has to do with this dolphin!

To get ready for the camp season, volunteers swept out, opened the weather curtains, and rearranged picnic tables for our campers to enjoy meals outside!
